Lima is one of the most interesting and challenging cities in South America with a huge archaeological, historical, and cultural past. Most of its treasures might be well hidden, but are worth being discovered. For many visitors, Lima is just an unavoidable must; a sprawling, chaotic, dirty and ugly metropolis, the starting and ending point on their trip to more interesting and exciting gems Peru offers. San Juan de Miraflores (SJM) is located in the Cono Sur of Lima (Southern cone). The district is one of Lima's pueblo jovenes (young towns), and arose from the desert-like lands when people from other districts of Lima moved in the middle of the 1950s.
San Luis is a small district close to Lima's city center. It's mostly a middle class residential area, but home to a growing number of smaller companies.

San Martín de Porres (SMP) is located in the Cono Norte of Lima (Northern cone). It lies on the north bank of the Rímac River. San Martín de Porres was named after and in honour of the famous Dominic friar San Martín de Porras. The district is among the oldest and best developed of Lima's pueblos jóvenes (young towns).
The Lima Art Museum presents 3000 years of Peruvian art. The museum has a large selection of pre-Columbian textiles and ceramics, pictures and furniture from Colonial and Republican times and a significant selection of paintings and photographic works from modern times.
The origin of the "Casa de Pilatos" or "Casa de Esquivel y Jarava" (after their first owners) is still not completely uncovered. Based on historical documents and writings left by the famous Peruvian author Ricardo Palma it is assumed that this beautiful mansion was built in 1590 and therefore is one of the oldest Colonial buildings in Lima.
