The "Museum José Carlos Mariátegui" is located in the famous "Casa de Washington Izquierda". Here the grand Peruvian writer and author spent his last five and most productive years. The exhibit brings visitors close to the life of José Carlos Mariátegui and displays furniture, documents and personal objects.

In addition a small art gallery with portraits of the well-know intellectual made by Julia Codesido and the Argentinean painter Emilio Pettoruti can be enjoyed.
