Law of Productivity and Labor Competitiveness
Legislative Decree No. 728, also known as the Labor Productivity and Competitiveness Law, is very important legislation. Published on March 27, 1997, the regulation has a series of objectives. One of the principal objectives is to provide workers with skills to consolidate their job performance. In fact, some fundamental principles are:
- Promote training and job training of workers as a mechanism to improve their income and work productivity.
- Promote the transfer of people employed in urban and rural activities with low productivity and income to other activities with higher productivity.
- Guarantee the income of the workers, as well as the protection against arbitrary dismissal, respecting the constitutional norms.
- Unify the rules on labor hiring and merge the existing social benefits.
